Garry Malcolm, Principal, RE/MAX New Plymouth

RE/MAX New Plymouth have 20 sales people working out of their office, all using SalesPartner and consider it the ‘best available program on the market’.

Garry Malcolm says he has been involved with SalesPartner for the last 16 years, having run it at his previous office and, when RE/MAX New Plymouth started two years ago, they chose SalesPartner for their listings and run this in conjunction with OfficePartner to do all their day to day reporting, trust ledgers and property management etc as ‘it is a great databasing and emailing facility’.

He adds ‘We use it to create either standard or custom-made flyers – up to 32 different options on the same property.

‘ It is very user-friendly and we have good support from John Duncan and the boys who often come up on training days. Some of our sales people have started to use SalesPartner cold, and have been able to work through it easily as it has a built-in learning program.

‘ We back up our files off-site to SalesPartner every night and there are just so many things available, such as the web page and web site that SalesPartner is absolutely brilliant, especially for uploading listings to other websites.’

Jeremy McClure, IT Manager, Property Brokers Ltd, Lower North Island

Property Brokers Limited, with headquarters in Palmerston North, is the fourth largest privately-owned real estate company in New Zealand with over 200 staff and 17 Branches in the lower North Island, recently celebrated its 20th birthday.

Jeremy McClure, the company’s IT Manager, says that the firm’s involvement with SalesPartner began more than ten years ago when the firm moved away from the franchise-based software it had been using.

Lorraine Girvan, Selig Real Estate, Lower Hutt

Selig Real Estate in Lower Hutt consider that the greatest benefit they receive from SalesPartner is in time saving, especially from the admin.side.

Seligs have two offices, one in Lower Hutt with 9 salespeople and one in Upper Hutt with 8. The manager of the Upper Hutt branch had used SalesPartner before at another company and about a year ago she showed the Lower Hutt branch the benefits that were available.

Lorraine Girvan comments that they had very good support form Alister and Andrew in setting up the system and they have provided on-going training if needed. ‘Andrew will come out and show us new features that could be of benefit to us.

‘ We had noted that putting each listing on the website individually was taking so long and now we can do them all with one hit of a key.

‘ We really appreciate the ability to email out new listings. Two of us have 250 buyers that we email out new listings to immediately and we get a really good response from this.

John Sisley, Lodge Country Ltd

John Sisley runs a real estate company in Hamilton specialising in rural/lifestyle properties and attached to Lodge Country Ltd – one of the biggest players in this part of the country.

He comments that they began looking for suitable software some time ago and discovered SalesPartner through Property Brokers. His company installed it about 18 months ago and all 14 members are ‘absolutely happy with it’.

He adds that John Duncan and his team were very helpful is getting them up and running, were more than happy to assist and always provided an immediate response ‘not that there were a lot of hassles’.

Ken Watson, Principal, Watson Real Estate, Palmerston North

Watson Real Estate of Palmerston North installed Sales Partner just over a year ago and since then have done ‘spectacularly well’.

Ken Watson of Watson Real Estate says that this is partly because ‘We have an excellent team of very good people’ but also because ‘Sales Partner has helped us put systems in place that have enabled us to move forward’.

The company celebrated its 10th anniversary at the end of July. When it was founded, it had no internet or email facilities and now all of the sales consultants have Sales Partner as well as the use of web links. The firm also runs Office Partner to track offers, contracts and commissions.

Ken comments that his company has moved forward in a big way since one of his agents Marie McGrath initiated the introduction of Sales Partner. “Sales Partner enables agents to sort, filter and provide the most relevant and up-to-the-minute sales information to vendors and purchasers. It sends out new listings to buyers every week and also automatically prints letters for listings, anniversaries, and many other regular activities.”

Ken notes that any system is only as good as the data inputted and the agents ability to access it. “We have a great admin team keeping data up to date and a techo wizz in David Stockley who teaches agents to access it. We also have a really good team environment where agents are very comfortable teaching their colleagues new applications. The ability to access information from their home computers and to produce flyers and marketing calendars for the clients from laptops is fantastic”.

‘ As far as the internet is concerned, we strongly support the Real Estate Institute and the re-branding of their website. The use of the internet and e-mail is increasing rapidly and becoming more prominent in the real estate industry and, like Sales Partner, it makes our lives a whole lot easier.’

Trish Tilbury, Principal, Coastal Realty Ltd, Levin

Coastal Realty Ltd of Levin have been using SalesPartner since they began 13 months ago and say ‘It is brilliant – really great’.

Coastal Realty is an independent company , currently with 8 residential and rural sales agents, soon to be increased to 9, and they cover the area from Foxton to Otaki.

Because most of them had used the L J Hooker system, which they considered a very comprehensive one, they researched on-line what was offering and discovered SalesPartner.

Pam van der Velden, Cromwell First National

Cromwell First National Real Estate find that SalesPartner frees up their agents from paperwork, enabling them to spend more of their time dealing with people on a one to one basis and actively selling properties.

Pam van der Velden says that, even though her company is a small town ‘our technology is quite high, we have always been at the top of our game since we started in 1994 and our staff of seven is always busy’.
