Administrators running SalesPartner should enable Hide activity rather than delete it in INI settings. This setting ensures that when you delete an activity such as an Open Home, the change is propagated to agents and automated uploads. How to: Enable Hide Activity Open SalesPartner Click More, and open Settings. Open INI Settings. Open the Misc tab. Tick Hide Activity rather than delete it. Click OK.

In version 14, network paths are defined in FDConnectionDefs.ini instead of the Borland Database Engine. By default FDConnectionDefs is located in C:\spartner\. You can edit FDConnectionDefs.ini using Notepad. You can launch different databases from a single PC by adding additional paths (aliases), with corresponding desktop shortcuts. In this example, we'll create a network path/alias to open SalesPartner on SPRLAB01 (computer name). Using Explorer (Ctrl+E) verify that your desired network path is visible, and the target spartner folder is shared. Record the spartner folder path. Open FDConnectionDefs.ini on the client PC. To create a new alias, copy the [Rezy] definitions and rename the duplicate - in this case we'll use the server name [SPRLAB01]. In the new alias, overwrite the default Database path using the networked spartner folder path you recorded previously. Save and close FDConnectionDefs.ini On your desktop, right click your SalesPartner icon and Send to > Desktop (create shortcut) Right click on the new desktop shortcut and open Properties > Shortcut tab. Edit the Target using the syntax below to point to the new network alias. C:\spartner\rezy.exe /db=SPRLAB01 Rename your shortcut in the General tab, then click Apply > OK. You can also create new Rezy.ini files to correspond with each alias. Using Notepad, open Rezy.ini and Save as with a new name, in the local spartner folder.
Edit your desktop shortcut to obey your new alias .ini settings. Right click > open Properties for the desktop shortcut 'SPRLAB01'. In Target use the syntax below to point to the new .ini file. C:\spartner\rezy.exe /db=SPRLAB01 /ini=C:\spartner\sprlab01.ini Click Apply, OK. Now when you edit INI Settings for SPRLAB01, they'll apply only for that alias. Open SalesPartner (SPRLAB01) More > Settings > INI Settings > Set Server, to specify your share path eg. \\sprlab01\spartner\
SocketServer is commonly installed on a SalesPartner office server or Session Host. To free up system resources and persist SocketServer when a PC is restarted, you can run SocketServer as a Windows Service using an SC script. Close SocketServer and any existing SynchroServer connections before continuing. When the Synchro folder is installed in the default location: C:\spartner\synchro run CMD as Admin and execute this script to create a new service named "SocketServer" sc.exe create SocketServer binpath= "C:\spartner\Synchro\scktsrvr.exe" Open Task Manager > Services > Open Services, to confirm that a new service "SocketServer" has been created. Right click the service to open Properties and select Startup type: Automatic (Delayed Start), to ensure that the service is restarted in the event of a reboot. You can also configure Recovery options to restart the service if a failure occurs.
