In a recent workshop the subject of weekly emails and annoying people with spam arose. Here is how you should approach getting unsubscribes. 1. Filters When you get an unsubscribe, it means your email reached the recipient directly in their inbox and they saw it instead of going straight into promotions or flagged as spam. Gmail unsubscribes give me a boost because it is so easy to get filtered. I would be concerned if I wasn't getting unsubscribes because of this reason. The same holds with any mail server (Outlook, Yahoo) which could blacklist your sender domain or SMTP at any time. 2. You get time back You no longer need to follow up with that person. You can now take that time you would've spent on them and use it to find more people who do want to work with you. As a bonus many servers charge you for every email you send per month so it's win-win. 3. Your customer has made a decision You have helped them in their journey towards finding a property, taking a break, or deciding who to work with. Whatever the case may be, we wish them all the best.
