Azure-RemoteApp: Configure new users
When you add a new user to your Azure-RemoteApp collection, complete these tasks.
Step 1. Install Azure-RemoteApp desktop client
Tip: Ensure the Azure-RemoteApp client is easily found on the user's Start menu / Desktop / Taskbar.
Step 2. Open Azure-RemoteApp and launch CMD
When a user logs in for the first time it may take a minute to create the new user environment on the session host.
Open CMD first.
- Open Explorer
- If Drive redirection is enabled, check that local drives are displayed
- Identify the Network location / shared storage
Network location / Shared Storage
- Open Network location. This contains spartner folders.
- Copy the address - in this example the address is: R:\
Step 3. Configure SalesPartner INI Settings
SalesPartner INI settings are configured individually for each user.
A) Set Server Location
Open SalesPartner > More > Settings > INI Settings
In the Setup tab, open Set Server and enter the network location you identified in the previous step. For example: R:\
Click OK
B) Enable Gallery Listing Reference Filter
Open the Gallery tab in INI Settings
In the ListingReferenceFilter= field, enter the user's required filter codes if applicable.
In this example, the user's filter codes are DU*, CO*
Separate multiple codes using a comma followed by a space.
If a user does not require any Gallery filter codes, leave this field blank.
C) Additional Recommended Settings
In Misc tab, change Zoom for variable sized windows to 125%
In Contact Entry tab, uncheck Simplified Interface: This recommendation applies to branch administrators.
Step 4. Save your settings
Click OK to close INI Settings, then close SalesPartner.
Things to check:
Printing
Does printing work - is printer redirection working?
On the SalesPartner main menu, open More > Print Report.
Open the Letterhead template, click Print. Open Properties to check that normal sizing, layout and tray options are available.
Clipboard
Check that clipboard redirection is working.
Open Contact Entry > Comments tab
Try copying and pasting text from the local machine into RemoteApp.
Notes:
Users can customize window sizing, and Gallery / To-Do List / Contacts column options. These settings are persisted.
To reduce billable usage hours, instruct users to close SalesPartner when the application will not be used for an extended period of time.
Rezy.ini file location
The user's Rezy.ini file is saved into their UPD - see: https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/articles/remoteapp-upd/
