- Rentals (desktop)
- Borland Socket Server (system tray)
- Rentals Server (system tray)
To backup Rentals in Rental Utilities > Offsite Internet Backup > Backup and go, first you must ensure that these apps and services are not running: Check to see if the Socket Server and / or the Rentals Server are running in your system tray (next to the date and time). You may need to expand the system tray (up arrow) to view all tray icons. Right click each service and click Close. Open the task manager using Ctrl+Alt+Del or Windows + X, Task Manager. In Processes, check that Rentals.exe and RentalUtil are closed before attempting to re-open Rental Utilities. Right click a process to End Task as required. You can also use End Task to close the Borland Socket Server if you see that it is still running. Once all the background services and any additional instances of Rentals / Rental Utilities / Socket Server / Rentals Server are closed, then the backup will work normally. Note: Restarting your PC is one way to ensure that Rentals, Rentals Server, and Rental Utilities are closed. However you will need to check that Socket Server is not running in your system tray because Socket Server is usually a scheduled Startup task (automatically launches on startup).
